Mills College Children's School Walkathon!

It's that time again! Mills College Children's School is doing its annual Walkathon on October 18 to raise funds for playground renovation, and I am sounding the drum for pledges as is my parental duty.

April *loves* the Walkathon. Last year (as some of you may recall) she walked 32 laps. 32! This year, she wants to do 100. Ahem. That would be 25 miles, kid, give or take. I'm trying to talk her down to 50. Simone will be walking, too. It's going to be a long day.

If you're interested in pledging per lap (we're going to set a 20 lap cap this year...) *or* just donating a flat amount, let me know and we'll exchange administrative details. You can pledge any amount at all; a dollar, 50 cents or a quarter per lap are all fine (or even less), as are larger pledges of course. Donations are entirely tax-deductible and often eligible for matching grants from employers.

This will be my one and only post on the subject this year because I hate fundraising. (It's a family tradition. Coincidentally, my mother was just appointed Interim Director of her academic department for the second time in her career; she could I suspect easily be the permanent director if she wanted, but she doesn't want it because she's even worse than I am at this stuff.) But I like playgrounds. And I really like MCCS.
