Job-hunting continues to slow me down. But we have seen Marius grow up and renounce his Royalism, and get kicked out of his grandfather's house for his trouble. Also today I ran across this gem:

"All contemporary social crimes have their origin in the partition of Poland."

(ascribed to a certain character's point of view, alas, not to Hugo's own voice. But I can dream.)


That's a hell of a quote, and I love it too.
