For those who are curious, the landlord is asking $995K for the house (and expecting more).

This is actually less than I expected it to go for. Nonetheless.

Landlord's rah-rah line in email about Oakland being the hottest housing market in the country not much appreciated.

The east bay is getting hit with huge increases because of what's going on in the SF real estate market. It's another bubble. A painful bubble to a lot of us who are not part of the current tech scene.

Surprisingly, real estate prices go down the more units you have. My 75 unit complex on the beach is worth less than twice what your landlord is asking for 3 units one town over. Zillow is a fascinating resource, there.

God, yes, this. The amount of angry grousing I do about ".... sorry I didn't get a CS degree, they didn't HAVE CS degrees when I went to college, god knows I don't do anything IMPORTANT just help people have functional RELATIONSHIPS and stuff, god forbid Twitter should want to hire an in-house THERAPIST to augment their fucking YOGA STUDIO [obscenities]...." is kind of embarrassing.

Which is why I'm posting it on LJ.
i'm really really sorry about this.
