Oh, yes, one more note about our outing this morning. It was a very short trip, and we saw only a handful of people on our way to and from the pediatrician's.

Every single person we saw commented on the twins (and their general adorableness). Every single one.

At the time, I managed to avoid a lot of unsolicited attention to my very pregnant belly, but I think my grace period is over :) Fortunately, so far everyone's been very solicitous and friendly about it.

P.S. they tend to think one's a boy and one's a girl. Which is supposed to be which, I'm not sure...

i hope your belly is feeling well!

and, any requests for dinner on thursday? i was thinking something casserole-ish, for ease of reheating, no chocolate or beets. but we take requests, so shout it out.

congrats to you all!

G. heard the word 'casserole' and said, 'tuna?' So if you're up to making tuna casserole, our household would love it. But anything casserole-y will make us happy at this point :)
wow, i know just how y'all feel-- sometimes only comfort food will do! we'll drop a creamy cheesy tuna noodle casserole by on thurs, with a heaping mound of sauteed greens on the side.

Maybe they see that they're different (not identical) and therefore assume they're a boy and a girl, forgetting that there can be same-sex fraternal twins too.
Maybe they think they are a boy-girl pair because that's what they want when they have twins.
that means that should my mother ever see them she will correctly identify them as girl-girl, but will then incessantly call them sadie and sophie.

(she thinks i should have twins. and name them sadie and sophie. and she mentions this to me. i love my mother, but oy.)
